This is important, so be prepared.
Make sure you know what to pack and be prepared if you coming from outside of Europe, for example, the United Kingdom or the USA
You need to be confident that you can use all your electrical devices whilst staying in a family villa, hotel, glamping site or even a luxury apartment on the islands whilst visiting Croatia.
It would be a real โbummerโ if you got here and you couldnโt charge your laptop, phone, or even your electrical toothbrush.
So pack a travel power adapter for your trip to Croatia! The correct ones!
So, If you have never used them before, a travel adapter is a device that simply allows you to plug any UK or USA electrical appliance into a foreign electrical socket.
However, It is important to note that it DOES NOT convert the voltage or frequency.
I repeat, these relatively cheap devices are not converters!
Croatia Voltage: Plug Types
For visiting Croatia, there are two associated plug types, types C and F.

Plug type C is the plug that has two round pins.

Plug type F is the plug that has two round pins with two earth clips on the side.
Croatia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Voltage in Croatia: Converters and Transformers
Electricity supplies all around the globe can vary from anything between 100V and 240V.
It can be extremely dangerous(fire and electrical hazard) to use electrical appliances that is rated at a voltage different from the supply that is available.
In this case, you may need to use a voltage converter or transformer whilst in Croatia.
Most voltage converters come supplied with plug adaptors, so you may not even need to buy a separate travel adaptor.
All converters and transformers units will have a maximum power rating, Amps or watts.
Please make sure that any appliance you intend to use does not overload this maximum rating.
Dual voltage in Croatia:
Dual Voltage Rated Appliances: Youโll be easily able to find out whether or not youโll have to use a converter or transformer, simply by looking at the appliance rating plate.
A dual voltage rated appliance will display for example:
โINPUT: 110-240Vโ
This means that you will NOT NEED a converter or transformer. You will only need a travel adaptor.

This is because Croatia operates on a 230V supply voltage, which is within the 110-240V range that the dual voltage appliance operates.
Single Voltage in Croatia
Single Voltage Rated Appliances: In Croatia the supply voltage is 230V.
If the appliance or its power supply is not dual voltage rated, the single voltage appliance will have to be used alongside a voltage transformer or converter to allow the appliance to work safely and properly (unless the appliance operates at 230V).
Just to note, converters are typically used with appliances that operate for a short duration (1-2hours)
Alternately, most transformers can be used with device appliances that run continuously.
Some travel adaptors are not suitable for appliances that require an earth connection.
These types of travel adaptors should only be used with double insulated equipment, which will be marked with this symbol:

We urge you to double-check your appliances before starting your journey and understand fully your own device requirements once you are here in Croatia.
TOP TIP: If you are festival goer coming over for one of the big festivals like Hideout Festival, Sonus Festival, or Austria Goes Zrce there will more than likely be a big group of you fighting for phone charger or hair dryer sockets in your apartments or villas.
So, make sure you pack a multi-adapter. It is a really cool hack as you can use one plug socket to charge multiple devices. Just like the one below:
But remember, be safe and do not overload the power sockets. Using one of these may reduce that potential overload risk.
