Across the center of town are salt warehouses, which are considered monuments today. During the 17th century they built three warehouses, while the remaining six of them were built during the Austro-Hungarian rule. Within the first warehouse is the “Permanent Exhibition of Salt” which shows the traditional way of getting salt on the island of Pag. The exhibition includes 104 exhibits in the form of pictures, photographs, salt products, tools, pools and, etc. The Salt Museum uniquely presents the former lifestyle of the inhabitants of the city of Pag, which depended on the production of the famous Pag’s salt.
